Restoring Box Backup Data via Snaphot - SAFE C2C

The Restore & Download option enables you to restore your backed up data from SAFE C2C’s servers. You can perform the following procedure to Restore & Download your Box accounts:

Click the Recovery element from the Navigation Panel.

The Restore & Download page is displayed with all your active-backup account details.

Select the “Box” task, you will then be shown the Box accounts backed up by SAFE C2C with the details such as Account name, First Backup date, Last Backup date, and available Actions. Your backed-up data is ready for download, from this page.

You can filter the listed accounts using following options:

  1. Enter a keyword in the Search field and all the accounts with the entered keyword are displayed.
  2. Filter accounts by statuses such as All, Active, Not Active, Scheduled, Paused, Backed-up in another task, Archived and In Process, from the drop-down list.

From the “Actions” column, click the account which want to restore/download. You will then be asked if you want to do this via Snapshot or Item Search. In this guide we are doing Snapshot.

You can use the drop down arrows under “Date changed from” and “To” to help narrow your search dates:

Press Continue when ready.

You will then be shown the available snapshots for this period, select the relevant item using the selection box on the right, or use the “search” option under “Action” to drill-down into the snapshot and view item level file structure, and select one or more items for recovery.

Once you have selected the items, you will need to decide if you want to Restore or Download. In this example we are Restoring.

When restoring, you will be asked the following:

      1.       You can restore to another account by entering that accounts email here.

      2.       You can restore the data to a folder, this option creates a new folder and the restored items will be there.

      3.       Or you can do an “In-place restore” which has the following options:
      i) Replace: The restored content will be merged with existing data. Deleted items and folders will be restored from the snapshot. Existing items will be overwritten with the snapshot version.
ii) Bypass: The restored content will be merged with existing data. Deleted items and folders will be restored from the snapshot. Existing items will be skipped.

The backup data that you selected will be restored to the location that you specified. When the recovery process is complete, a summary will be sent to your email.

You can also check the Jobs page to see the progress of your task. See "Tracking Recovery Tasks on the Jobs Page."
