Our new Cloud to Cloud backup solution is perfect for backing up your cloud solutions to our cloud storage. We can backup numerous products, including SharePoint, G Suite/Google Workspace, Dropbox, Office365 Exchange, Salesforce and many more.
For this guide, we will be focusing on how to backup SharePoint.
1. Log into your C2C portal. Once on the main page, you will see the below options. Please select SharePoint.
2a. You will then be taken to the below options. There are two different ways of authorising the software to be able to backup SharePoint. The first involves using OAuth to grant permissions. This will allow the backup software to work but without having to input any passwords to your Office 365 account. You must however be signed in as a Global Admin to do this. Application Impersonation is also required, as is the account being a Primary Admin on the SharePoint site (see step 3).
2b. The other method of granting access is to use an Office 365 Admin account. This will require a username and password, but will grant access the same as the OAuth method above. Application Impersonation is again required, as is the account being a Primary Admin on the SharePoint site (see step 3).
3. As mentioned above, to allow both methods to work, you need to configure the ApplicationImpersonation role on the Office 365 portal. Below is how to do this. You need add the account you are going to be using to allow the backup software to access Office 365.
4. Once you have chosen your authorisation method, you will be taken to the page below. Here you can customise how you want the backup to run. You can choose the schedule; which sites are backed up; whether any new sites are automatically backed up and much more.
5. And that is it. You can then go to your backups and view the new backup. If the schedule has been set to a later time, it will tell you the time till the next backup. If you want to start one immediately, you can also press the start button and get one going. Here is where you will make changes to the backup as well.
