How to backup Salesforce - SAFE C2C

Our new Cloud to Cloud backup solution is perfect for backing up your cloud solutions to our cloud storage. We can backup numerous products, including SharePoint, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Office365 Exchange, Salesforce and many more.

For this guide, we will be focusing on how to backup Salesforce.

Log into your C2C portal. Once on the main page, you will see the below options. Please select Salesforce.

You will then be taken to the below option. Here, you can select which part of Salesforce you backup. Production is your live environment, whereas Sandbox is your test environment (if you have one). When you press 'Authenticate in Salesforce', you will automatically be redirected to your Salesforce account, where you will need to confirm the access (see step 2b). You will need to sign in if you haven't already.

This is the authentication page on Salesforce. You will need to press 'Allow'.

When prompted, enter your Salesforce Admin credentials from the Salesforce login screen, and click “Authorise”. If you have 2FA setup you will be prompted for this.
Once you have authorised the backup software in Salesforce, you will be taken to the page below. Here you can customise how you want the backup to run.

1.     You can change the name of the backup task by clicking in here.

2.     This shows that the application successfully connected to the Salesforce account. If this does red and says “disconnected” (normally this happens due to inactivity if the task is paused for a long time) you can select it to open the authentication dialog again and repeat the authentication process.

3.     Enter the daily API usage limit for Salesforce, default is 75%.

4.     “Index all data for Search” by default is select, this provides you with a granular search and restore functionality. In the process, your data is temporarily decrypted for a brief period of time, and then re-encrypted once the index is built, if this goes against company policy please email us on support@safedatastorage.co.uk

5.     These are set by default and cannot be changed.

6.     Use the drop downs to set the frequency of the backup.

And that is it!
You can then go to your backups and view the new backup. If the schedule has been set to a later time, it will tell you the time of the next backup. If you want to start one immediately, you can also press the start button and get one going. Here is where you will make changes to the backup as well.
